Ruben | Manhattan, KS Senior Portraits

Monday, April 26th, 2010

Ruben is a senior at Flint Hills Christian High School in Manhattan, KS, and on Saturday I had the great opportunity to meet up with him and take his senior portraits. Ruben plays basketball out at FHCS and plans to attend Manhattan Christian College in the fall. Ruben, like most senior men I have worked with, aren’t always the most comfortable in front of the lens – but, about half way through the shoot, Ruben was laughing, relaxed and enjoying our photoshoot time! :) We started at his house, hit up a surprise spot in Manhattan (can you identify the sweet brick and stone columns?), and ended our time together at FHCS. Enjoy! :)

Sampson-Choma Family | Family Pictures

Saturday, April 17th, 2010

I have the sweetest job in the whole world. Here’s what I get to do on a semi-cloudy, perfectly breezy, 65 degree mid Thursday afternoon – I get to meet beautiful families, with amazing children, and super-ridiculously-awesome pictures, and capture some still shots of their family that will hopefully be passed down from generation to generation. No biggie… :)

This family is awesome. Tosha and Kimathi’s son, Isaiah, attends the local Christian school where I placed one of my family portrait sessions up for auction – and they WON! I found out about the Flint Hills Christian School‘s annual auction to raise money for their school for sports, activities for the kids and various other expenses, and I had to jump on board! So, a couple days ago, we met up at this beautiful fountain, that is behind the campus apartment buildings (who even knew this was there?) and started clicking away on one of my new favorite families! Tosha is an english professor at K-State and Kimathi is a Vet – so we naturally had to take our pictures on campus! :)

Okay, okay…done with the talking (for now). Just enjoy this beautiful family – and their firecracker of a son, Isaiah :) Such naturals in front of the camera!  :) Enjoy part one for now…part two is coming tomorrow! :)

Isaiah is trying to mimic his daddy in these portraits, and I thought it was seriously adorable. :)

Beautiful, beautiful princess - so intrigued by the tall grass!

Josh, Kasie and Ella – Part Three

Saturday, March 27th, 2010

Because I couldn’t stop picking out my favorites, this post has three parts to it (for part 1, click here; for part 2, click here! :) This last section is dedicated to the adorable, seriously adorable, facial expressions of Miss Princess Ella! When we were walking around Konza Prairie, we found a beautiful open field with some brush in it and plopped Ella in a basket in the middle, and she loved it! She kept looking out of the basket, in the basket, trying to figure out what was going on, and I think I captured her child like essence through these little moments of inquisitive-ness (yes, this is officially now a word!)

Enjoy these beautiful faces, and I promise, this is the last post of these seriously adorable cuties! :)

Josh, Kasie and Ella – Part 2

Saturday, March 27th, 2010

As you saw earlier (click here for post, Part 1), this family is gorgeous! They are loving, caring, compassionate, funny, and adorable :) Kasie is one of the most beautiful women I’ve met, and is an absolutely glowing expectant mother! Their little peanut is due in July, and they are expecting a boy! I hope you enjoy this beautiful family – and hopefully through these pictures you can see, absorb and glean from thier love, joy and laughter :) …And! Please notice their seriously great sense of spring fashion…love baby Ella’s green shoes and her little yellow rain jumper and Kasie’s adorable pink maternity shirt :)

Josh, Kasie and Ella – Part 1

Saturday, March 27th, 2010

Beautiful blue eyes, warm-sun-light and smiles in an open field…yes please :) Yesterday afternoon I had the wonderful blessing of spending time with Josh and Kasie and their beautiful one year old daughter Ella! I had the great blessing of meeting Josh and Kasie last semester at a mutual friend’s house for dinner, and we hit it off immediately. Their beautiful daughter is full of smiles, multiple facial expressions and quite  adorable, too! I first worked with the family last Fall (click here to see our first shoot together), and was energized and encouraged by my time with them! Needless to say…I was excited to work with them again!

So, here is part of one of a three part series – enjoy the facial expressions, joy and laughter that this beautiful 12 month and her parents old will bring you as you get to “walk” with us through the Konza on a very windy, but sunny and beautiful afternoon :)
